The Northeast Johnson County (NEJC) Chamber Annual Awards recognize businesses, organizations, and individuals whose leadership, innovation, and community involvement strengthen our region and exemplify the Chamber's mission of helping businesses grow and communities thrive.

Nomination & Voting Period

Nominations are open July 20, 2026 and ends at 5pm on July 29, 2026. After the nominating period, 4-5 members in each category with the most nominations advance to a final ballot. Final voting is open to the community at large (Chamber members, patrons, and NEJC community members) from August 10, 2026 to 5pm on August 17, 2026. Only one vote per person/email address is allowed during the nomination and voting period. Recipients are honored with these prestigious awards during a awards ceremony at The Annual Gala on November 21st, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nominees must be members in good standing of the NEJC Chamber.
  • Nominees should demonstrate a commitment to community engagement, business excellence, and support of the NEJC Chamber and the communities it serves.
  • Nominees may be nominated in multiple categories
  • Businesses, organizations, or individuals nominated in previous years who were not selected as recipients remain eligible for nomination.
  • Self Nominations are not accepted
  • Nominations must come from NEJC Chamber Members and may not be submitted anonymously
  • Previous recipients are not eligible to receive the same award again within five (5) years of receiving the award. (see previous winners: nejcchamber.com/awards)


Small Business of the Year
Nonprofit of the Year
  • Employs 50 or fewer full-time equivalent employees.
  • Demonstrates business growth, innovation, customer service excellence, and community involvement.
  • Has not received the Small Business of the Year award within the past five years.
  • Is a recognized nonprofit organization serving the NEJC Chamber region.
  • Demonstrates measurable community impact, mission advancement, and organizational sustainability.
  • Has not received the Nonprofit of the Year award within the past five years.


Corporate Business of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
  • Demonstrates outstanding business leadership, corporate citizenship, and community engagement.
  • Supports Chamber initiatives, programs, and events.
  • Has not received the Corporate of the Year award within the past five years.
  • Demonstrates exceptional service, leadership, and commitment to the NEJC Chamber.
  • Has made a significant impact through volunteerism over the past year.
  • Embodies the spirit of service, collaboration, and community leadership.
  • Has not received the Volunteer of the Year award within the past five years.
